Learn Taxidermy

For nearly 40 years, the Northwest Iowa School of Taxidermy has been considered one of the finest professional taxidermy programs in the country, promoting and sharing the art of taxidermy with over 850 students from all over the World. Many went on to own, operate or work for some of the most successful taxidermy studios in the US.

In 2020 COVID presented the World with a new challenge, and NWIST not only met the challenges, but we used this opportunity to expand the reach of taxidermy education through technology and bring our time-tested methods, tips and experiences weekly to a worldwide audience! Thus, the beginning of our “Taxidermy Live” videos. These live, interactive, online demonstrations could be viewed from the tree stand, the bow of the boat, duck blind or the comforts of your own home.

In an effort to broaden the reach of our educational efforts the NWIST has chosen to transition from the residential learning platform and focus on growing the “Taxidermy Live” video library resources. Our YouTube video library currently has over 17,000 minutes of educational content to help everyone from beginners to experts on improving their skills.
